MIA ALAJASKO

Born in Vasa, Finland 1989, and later blossoming in Umeå, Sweden.

Mia's artistic exploration is as diverse as her origins. Currently in Onsala, just outside Gothenburg, she is having her own studio in the backyard.

In 2020, Mia began her artistic journey and made the decision to leave her position as store manager for Orrefors & Kosta Boda to focus full time on sculpturing.

Fast forward to 2023, and Mia is ready to fascinate the world with her spellbinding sculptures through exhibitions and public appearances. Her creations have already become highly desired masterpieces, finding their way into homes across Europe, with even the bright lights of New York yelling for their unique attraction.

Mia is self taught. She works exclusively with clay and her own mixed glazes. With the sculptures fired in an electric kiln at temperatures exceeding 1000 degrees. Additionally, she has created a few pieces using the Japanese raku technique, where the sculptures are exposed to open fire and later burned in sawdust.
